In the first lesson we will learn why it important to study liturgics – which means 'the common work of the people'. It is not just up to the clergy to serve, but for the entire parish to participate.

In Lesson 2 we will take a look at the Weekly Cycle, did you know that every day of the week is consecrated to a special remembrance, with Sunday in honour of the Resurrection?

Now that we understand the daily cycle and weekly cycle, we will ramp it up with the  Annual Cycle of Moveable feasts and learn about the differences in calendars.

What liturgical books are used in Orthodox services?

In our third lesson, we look at how to build a service, so to speak, according to the day of the week and the time of the year. What is the Octoechos? What is the Book of Hours or Horologion?
